Some of you may have read that Severn Trent Water threatened to take me to court this week. As a result I phoned them today. When I said I had paid on the 4th May, he said I hadn't paid the second half of the yearly bill. I told him I hadn't got a reminder yet and it wasn't due for another 3 weeks anyway. Then he told me they had stopped sending reminders for the second payment. He said that too many people were not paying the second half since they had stopped sending reminders and they were forced to take court action. Then I pointed out that they were threatening me with court action, before the bill was due. He calmly asked me to pay by credit card there and then. When I said I didn't want to pay, he said, "well just pay half then." Thats when my extensive knowledge of Anglo German expletives came into play. Anyway the outcome was I would pay it when it was due and not before.

It seems they have now given up sending cheap reminders by second class post and now send threats by expensive Telemessages. He did say that sending reminders was under review. I expect an overpaid committee has been sitting for most of the year deciding whether they should continue sending them. As this is the first time they haven't sent reminders and the bill isn't due yet, I don't see how they can say that customers are not paying.

Anyone who's wondering what they did with the loonies, when they closed all the nuthouses. They are employing them to run the country.
