I saved a file in Excel but it has been deleted. It has also been deleted from the Recycle Bin. Is there any way that I can get the file back?
Windows 7 and some versions of Vista have a feature called previous versions. If you know which folder the file was saved in, right click it and select Restore previous versions. You can then open any of the previously saved versions of the folder and look for your file.
Alternatively, try Recuva or Data Recovery Wizard Free Edition. Unfortunately, downloading recovery software like this can overwrite the file you are trying to recover so for best results, you need to have it already installed on your computer and ready to use straight away.

mikkh: It was pretty easy with the help of vapes, which I've dabbled with for years but never really stuck to full time - till now. One bad habit for another maybe, but I feel healthier and it's definitely a lot cheaper.

Lynnrose: Congrats Mikkh! Were you one of the lucky ones and stopped easily, or was it hard work?
