Would a trojan cause my computer to send out e mails to everyone on my address book - even to people who have changed their e mail address? This has happened to me three times now and I have scanned and cleaned out cache many times but today it happened again. If you think this is a trojan can you reccommend a good free Trojan tracker for me please. Thanks

Run both Super Antispyware and Malwarebytes AntiMalware Louise, they will get rid of anything on your computer. If they have got into your email account, they dont need your computer to continue. Change your email password, once you are sure your computer is clean. Download SAS from here: www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.htmlDownload MBAM from here, the latest version is in the top right hand corner: www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/It would be best if you update both after downloading and then run them in Safe Mode. These two work alright without going into Safe Mode, but it wont hurt to play it on the safe side.

The superantispyware brought up nothing but I still do it each day to be sure. The malwares one bought up 8 threats the first day 7 the second day and today (3rd) just two. Adware it said. How do I prevent them from accessing my computer or do I just have to keep removing them daily. Thanks
p.s. changed my email password as you suggested

You will always get some tracking cookies Louise, every website uses cookies and most of them are not real threats. These apps dont know the difference between the dangerous ones and the others. It doesn't do any harm to keep cleaning them, but you will always get some put back on. I run C Cleaner and that clears the browser cache. If you run SAS right afterwards it wont find anything unless its dangerous and has got right on the system. I say run both apps, as they both do a different job and work differently. That way you have checked everything. Theres no problem if they are finding things, its when you know theres something wrong and you cant find it.

The main thing to remember with both of those programs is to update them before running them. It's the only way to be sure you are getting the latest nasties in the database.
