Everyone in the UK can now scrutinise all UK laws thanks to a site launched by the National Archives.

The laws on legislation.gov.uk cover England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and are stored as PDF files.

Both the original versions and details of any amendments can be accessed for free and there are some 6.5 million documents on the site in all.

According to the National Archives, the site is a world first and has been launched in response to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg's call to make government more open and transparent.

Some of them are tricky to understand, so I might have to read them all again when I'm finished.
