Or OpenSuse as it's called nowadays.
A decade or so ago, when I first stumbled across Linux - Suse was one of the first ones I tried and it was streets ahead of anything else at the time. I was very happy with it.
Over the years it got steadily worse instead of better and then it was taken over by Novell and became mainly a commercial distro. It forked into the paid for version and a new free version called OpenSuse.
It was never quick to install and the live CD's were a bit of a joke in how long they took to load. It got so bad at one point, that i just stopped using it because I was sick of the the hour long install, the annoying package manager and how slow it was in running.
Having totally dismissed the last few releases, I thought it was about time I tried it again
To cut a long story short, it's back on my list of favourites with all the previous problems apparently solved
Welcome back Suse
It was the Gnome version I tried btw - stay away from the KDE version

Suse is probably the second most used Linux in business - with Red Hat being the most popular. I know our local council use Suse for their emailing systems, or used to anyway.
It's probably not as user friendly as Mint, Mepis, PClinuxOS etc but it's worth a go if you want a stable proven version of Linux. I'm quite impressed with it, but then I am easily pleased.
I now have a bootloader on my main PC that reads
PClinuxOS Mepis (default OS to boot) Windows 7 (with Mint 9 installed 'wubi style) OpenSuse Fedora Community Remix
