Ken, I purchased SAS Professional couple of days ago at the offer price and it is working fine with lifetime updates. I sent in a support ticket to ask if I could take advantage of the extra copy for $9.95 for my laptop to which they agreed and that too is sucessfully installed. However the second version only offers updated for 12 months, is this normal?

I have had a reply from SAS support, apparently it is correct.

It is normal Buzz, if you buy an extra copy. Your better off catching them when they have a one day offer and buy a copy using a different email address.

I received notification today that SAS was ready to download their latest version. I clicked on the relevant place and up came a message that I needed Administrator rights!! As the sole user of this PC I already am the administrator (Win7 64 bit) and yet the download does not take place. Any ideas please?

Go into Action Centre and turn off the UAC Buzz. I dont know whether that will solve it, but thats the only setting I can think of off hand.

Ken, I am still 'learning' Windows 7. Do you mean like thus, or take the slider to the bottom? I assume I would put it back to normal afterwards?

It's just come up again, and at the setting above, it remains 'stubborn'

Mine is at the bottom, turned off Buzz. That is the only thing I have ever changed that I can think of. I have never had your trouble, so that might be the answer. I'm running Pro x 64, but that shouldn't matter security wise.

This has happened to a few of my customers as well whose computers are running W7 x86 or x64. I have found that if you go to the SAS site, and re-download and re-install the latest version from there, it cures the problem.
* Oh, as an aside, I turned my UAC off totally as well!

Kev - I will turn off my UAC totally - However my SAS is the Professional version (purchased) and of course I have the registration number too. If I uninstall it, will I still have my lifetime subscription (being a new version) - or not?

Try this Buzz. Go to this link and click on the latest version in the top right hand corner. Dont save it, just click on open. It should just do its thing and install the new over the old. filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/If you uninstall, your key number is still valid for a new installation. If it tells you that you have installed it too many times, just get in touch with them and they will fix it.

Ken - thanks, I have completely negated UAC and downloaded SAS from the link you gave me and yes it has retained the Pro status. Hopefully this will overcome the problem?

Your welcome Buzzy, I thought it would overwrite it OK. With the UAC turned off, it will hopefully just update next time.

I think it was the version that you had of SAS that wouldn't allow the update buzzy. I'm sure now that you have updated it to the newer version it will update normally from now on.
