Juicy gossip gets more views........

Reads a bit like a Sunday morning paper headline.

I was just drifting down the Coffee Bar threads and looking at the amount of views each thread had attracted. If you take out the views of the 'It's been 7 months' thread the rest average out at well under 50 views per thread, that's people having a little look but not actually taking part, the equivalent of peeping through a crack in the curtains.

What I think is quite interesting is my thread of about a month ago 'Sorry CIT I've been having an affair' which has attracted twice the average veiws.....what does that tell you?

CIT is really just like a closely packed housing estate with low fences, people love a bit a gossip..... ;D See, sex really does still sell. Having said that, only a few offered advice re my 'affair' the rest preferring to be voyeurs.

I agree MM.....so the moral of the story is, if you want to get noticed, spice up the thread title.

eg.
For Computer Help for a problem with Windows XP, title the thread........

'Peak through my 'windows' for 'X'-rated problems.
Errrrrrm, summat like that.

I suppose I really should come clean about my sordid little wanderings away from CIT over the last month or so. The 'other women' in my life, the one that has kept me away from you and my own family well into the early hours of the morning, the one that led me astray and constantly going back for more?
She is actually another forum, a forum based just on the area I live in, where lots of sad people (like myself) go to discuss the history of the area and reminisce about the 'good old days'. A bit of an old git's club really.
Sorry it isn't maybe as exciting as I might have suggested in my original post (if only) but it amused me...

I sense Lynnrose, that you might not have been sure if I was seriously having an real world affair as your comments on the thread tended to dry up somewhat....sorry if I somehow mislead you.....it wasn't intentional (cough, cough).....

I think she was hoping it was a real 'other women' as my absence might have turned out to be more permenent....never mind I can bore her now with what our locale was like in 1860....oooooh! she gets so excited when I mention it.

I dunno what my local was like in 1860, I got press ganged in 1857 and didn't get home till 1870. Went ashore and got drunk and woke up on a whaler bound for the Antartic for 6 years. Got home and my kids were pretty much grown up and I didn't have any when I went away.
