Is it possible to add a new tab in Firefox simply by clicking on a link (as in Maxthon) rather than having to click on "New Tab" first. Currently the live tab is replaced by the new selection?

Not sure if this is exactly what you mean Buzzy, but in Tools/Options/Tabs you will find a drop down box to select what you want to happen when you click a link. Also I have the Tab Mix Plus Add-on on mine. and that gives numerous other ways to customise tabs.

Roz, Hi. I maybe didn't explain myself correctly. I have set up several new folders in my Bookmarks toolbar each of which contain several links. What I am trying to achieve is have several sites alongside one another purely by selecting the links (from the relevant folders) without first having to click on 'New Tab' (This is perfectly simple in "Maxthon"). I have downloaded 'Tabs Mix Plus' and I imagine the above may be possible but I have not yet managed to figure out how? If you can throw any light on this enigma I should be most grateful.

Mine open in new tabs and I have it set thus: In FF itself I have Tools/options/tabs, set to open links in a new tab. And Tab Mix Plus is set as the screenshots below. Try that and see if it works. I don't think any of the other TMP settings are relevant to what you want to do, but if I'm wrong I'll post more.

Roz, thank you so much, your tips have created exactly what I wanted to achieve. I think it was the 'events' settings in your second screen shot that needed tweaking.

You're very welcome. When you have everything to your liking Buzzy, it might be a good idea to make a back up of your profile. It can be done manually, but I use Mozbackup and haven't needed to adjust any FF settings for years due to using that. Just thought you might be interested.

Roz - Thanks, I'll have a look at the backup when I have done some more work on the site.
