I use Spotify, which I think is fantastic and I know a couple of members do too. I recommend you all download it. Just download the free version. You will only have to put up with the odd advert now and then, it's no big deal. Once installed, just type in the name of the artist or song you want to listen to and away you go! You can build up your own playlists and share via email etc. More information here
Download.....Spotify
I thought it would be fun to share our playlists. It's perfectly safe. Once you have a playlist that you want to share, right click the folder and click on 'Copy HTTP Link' and paste the link on this thread, so we can have a listen to each other's musical choices.
I'm going to put one of my playlists here now. It's my playlist called Various. Of course we all have different tastes, but if you like any of my songs, right click the song and choose Save to, then save it to one of your playlists from the list that pops up, or make a new playlist.
Here is my playlist, click the link and my list will open up in your own Spotify programme.
Various
(When you want to get rid of my playlist, just right-click and delete it)
If you like any of the songs from me and other members and add to your own list, let us know....PS....there are no Elvis songs in my Various folder, so no need to dread opening my list lol
I hope you all join in.

Nice list LR , I even know some of them. ;D
Here's a quick list of some old favourites of mine, bet you've never heard of most of these, except for Elvis, of course.

Thanks for sharing Nocky. I recognised a couple, but 'Sea Cruise' I think I have heard it sung by someone else? I didn't see any Elvis in there.

Hi LR , Elvis is on the second list, "NockysRockers. These are just some songs I remembered off the cuff, I'll probably make a list of my all-time favourites when I have the time. Takes a while to find original versions of some of that old stuff. ;D

You need to put the url for the second playlist seperately Nocky x
I thought Mikkh would put his list on here, as I know he has Spotify. Perhaps he is fine tuning it. I'm patient, so will just look forward to hearing his heavy rock tunes

If you mean that when Spotify itself opens, it opens with my list ready to play and your two playlists on the left...that is how it should be. It is 'your' Spotify that opens, so therefore will show you what you have stored there, plus my list. When I open your link, my own Spotify opens with your playlist ready to play and my 19 other playlists. You won't be able to see them unless I put individual links to each list on here. Hope that makes sense I think that you are under the impression that if you give me one link, I can see everything in your spotify programme.

Pleasant tunes Mikkh. I didn't know any of them or the group/singer.
Could it be Firefox causing you problems? I am using it and the links didn't work for me at first. Have a look here I clicked on Tools, Options, Applications, found Spotify in the list. Clicked on the drop-down arrow, and changed it to 'Use Spotify (default)'
You MUST listen to my list and of course Nocky's too

You're right LR , I didn't read the instructions , I thought the first link would show both lists. How did you find the time to make 19 lists, it took me about 2 hours to do just one. I think I'll follow mikkhs example and just load single artist lists. ;D

Not so heavy ! Some surprising tunes from Black Sabbath
I'm in Windows now and I've seen your list Lynnrose - hmmm, a couple of Eurythmics tracks and a classic Diana Ross track, but the rest are mostly not my thing (Patience is probably the only Take That single I've ever liked)
They were all Roxette in my first list btw - nearly all album tracks that weren't released as singles ( my I'm depressed and staying that way list)
Nocky, sorry not for me kiddo. I have fairly diverse tastes but pop/rock music before my time all sounds a bit twee and dreadfully old fashioned to me

I have had Spotify for a while now Nocky. All my other lists are each devoted to one artist/group. My various list, is just a mixture of songs I specifically like, so I play the list I fancy at the time....and of course I have one specifically devoted to Elvis and one for Michael Jackson amongst many others. I can't listen to your lists Mikkh until the IT bloke at work has allowed me to download Spotify. He promises that I can have Spotify today. Whoooo Hoooo I don't like the radio on at work as there are too many repeats and stuff I don't like.
PS...yes, I am allowed to go on the internet whilst at work before everyone tuts at me lol

Absolutely disgraceful, my flabber has never been so gasted. Every fibre of my being wants to scream and wail about the unfairness of it all - oh sorry that's the Forest result at the weekend I was thinking about.

"Nocky, sorry not for me kiddo. I have fairly diverse tastes but pop/rock music before my time all sounds a bit twee and dreadfully old fashioned to me"
That's fair enough mikkh, I felt exactly the same about music before the mid 50s. Then I started looking into where Rock "n" Roll came from. and in the process I discovered a whole new world of great R "n"B and Blues music from the 30s\40s I'd never heard of In the due process of time all this music progressed and developed into the music I love. The music you and others prefer today is just a continuation of this process. I suspect that without all of this "twee" old fashioned stuff, (and the invention of the Stratocaster ;D) that music would never have come about.
Keep on Rockin',

All easy on the ear sweetheart, but I'll compile a real heavy rock one soon - and maybe even impress Nocky ;o)

I liked some of the ballads, but Black Sabbath doesn't do it for me. Keep 'em coming though. Anyone else out there want to listen to our music and share their own?
Here is another artist I like...

That shouldn't be hard mikkh, I like lots of heavy rock stuff, just don't slip in any of that gangsta rap rubbish. ;D In 50 odd years of serious music listening, that's about the only genre of music I've never found something to enjoy.

No I wouldn't do that Nocky, (c)rap of any sort I don't even consider music, it's just bad poetry with an added beat

Just finished listening to your list mikkh, and there were indeed some jolly little toe-tappers on it. I always liked Sabbath, but preferred them with Ozzy on vocals, he was something else. ;D

Yes there's no doubting Ozzy's contribution to Sabbath and that era produced many fine songs. I was looking for instant appeal though, which I think DIO was better at. Many of the earlier Sabbath tracks needed a second or third listen before appreciating them fully
I liked DIO in Rainbow and by himself later, so a DIO fronted Sabbath was right up my street
I never really followed Ozzy's solo career, so maybe I should investigate what I've missed
