I have just been looking for some 'Happy New Year' avatars and there are not too many out there. I then had a thought .....what about getting members to make some :)Yes, I know I could make my own, but it might be fun to see any ideas that CIT'ers might come up with. They could be animated, or just a 'still,' saying Happy New Year or All the Best for 2010 for example.
The size needs to be 100 x 100 Pixels
I'll leave it with you

Click 'Profile' at the top of the page Click on 'Modify Profile' Paste in the URL of your avatar (don't use IMG tags, just the URL starting http) Scroll down and click on the 'Modify Profile' button

I must be doing something wrong here, I tried from tinyurl and photobucket, but no joy. Any avatar I've made will do.

The only way to get it to work was to put the direct link in. The IMG didn't work

I couldn't get the URL to work either Lynnrose. The only one that worked; was the direct link to Photobucket, where you get 3 choices. URLs for Multiply, IMG for Proboard messages and Direct links for Proboard Avatars. I found that out months ago and forgot, I remembered you must put the size below 100 in. Now how do I get the font and colours back in profilles, I forgot that as well.

Small problem Lynnrose, I lost that bit of the menu when I edited the pages yesterday. I thought you gave me a code before to write in the global footer or somewhere. I wanted to get rid of a tracker and pruned a bit too hard.

All fixed Lynnrose, thanks a lot for the code. Got it saved now, so I know where it is. Theres no telling whats going to happen once I get editing. Even shut the group down for 10 minutes yesterday, while I looked for the backdoor key to get back in.

This is the official way of getting in to sort out the headers and footers when things go wrong Buzzy. If you (admins) experience problems with your board loading, and a code is suspected of causing the problem, you have 2 basic methods.
method 1. if you still have your board open, hit 'back' on your browser to where you added the code (headers page), you should be able to remove or edit the code(s)
OR
method 2. To access your headers, follow these steps. edit your url to this your-board.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=login&NOHEADERS=1
Type in your username and password, click login.
then IGNORE THE PAGE CONTENT
then edit the url to this your-board.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=headersfooters&NOHEADERS=1
You will now be able to modify your headers and footers. copy codes to notepad before removing them, then go and recheck if the code is correct.
note: your-board.proboards.com
is YOUR URLDo you mean that pushing Ctrl Z will do the same thing?? I've not had any luck hitting the back button and had to use the second method. Make one mistake in the code in a header or footer and you can shut the entire site down. That dont go down too well with the members.
