It does a quick scan at 3am but earlier I did a full system scan with the following amazing result: Windows Defender System Scan
No unwanted or harmful software detected Your computer is running normally
Scan statistics Full system scan Start time: 18:02 Time elapsed 00:39:18 Objects scanned 340169
Last week it scanned 188342 objects
That's an increase of 151827 objects.! The only software I've added is CCleaner, PartyPoker, Skype Be half a million next week at this rate.

Don't forget that your internet cache gets a huge number of files (objects) so if you clean out the cache then get rid of all the temp files and other garbage then do a scan it will show you just the filers you actually have., wait a week and try again after doing your normal surfing and see how much more has been added.
Try using Windows washer its on free download via Computer Active magazine until 5th march. I used it and cleared 350Mb ofrubbish.

Cheerrs Does Windows washer clean more than CCleaner then. Don't want to start washing the registry.

I would cut the Internet cache down to about 75 Mb Phoney, Windows has probably set it at a gig or something stupid and you will be bringing up old pages instead of new.

Phoney I have used Window Washer for years, it is a bit more thorough that Ccleaner but I use both anyway.

Cheers for advice. I have temp.int files at 100MB Just downloaded malwarebytes and did a quick scan (56372 objects) All clear I think reading too much on viruses etc; makes one paranoid.
