McAfee told me they had detected AdAware did I want to trust it or remove it - I said remove - dunno if AdAware is necessary for my needs and since then my computer has froze a couple of times, SO the question is - should I have asked to remove it or did I really need it - could there something else making my PC freeze? I have had to reboot each time there would seem to be a problem - my messages not coming through and if they do nothing in the body of the email until I restart the machine tia Plucky

The legal ad-aware is ok, but looking rather puny against modern day alternatives like SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes 'MBAM' Some viruses claim to be programs they're not, so getting rid of it was probably best and no big loss if it was the legitimate one anyway

Your computer is freezing up for reasons other than Adaware. I've never heard of that program causing any problems like that. I would be looking at the CPU heatsink being clogged with dirt and dust causing the thing to freeze as a result of heat problems. The insides of your computer may need cleaning. If that doesn't cure it, then we will need to look elsewhere. It seems to me to be a hardware problem rather than software... JMHO

Can I suggest you also dump McAfee?
Like Norton, it's garbage compared with the alternatives.
Most people get it bundled with their computer or in some other package. Kinda demonstrates just hpw desperate they are to get people to use it.
