Visions of 2020

Children were asked to come up with ideas for life in 2020, here is some of what they came up with...

• robot chef who can prepare any dish "on demand"
  
• solar-powered lawn mower
  
• TVs operated by pedal power
  
• Pencils that do homework for you
  
• paintbrushes that automatically paint masterpieces

I quite fancy the chef idea and I have always loved the 'machine' (replicator) on Star Trek where you tell it what you want to drink or eat and it magically appears.
Having a 'holodeck' would be so cool too!....ooooh and one more, how fab to be able to be 'beamed' wherever you want to go in an instant!

It's only just over 10 years in the future - what do they really expect to happen in that short a period?

Some die hards will still be using XP, even though 16 or even 64 core CPU's should be a reality by then - and basically nothing will have changed much IMO

50 years in the future would be a better time scale
