I didn't know that either, but it's so rare to download a single file of that size that it's no wonder it's a little known fact. I have downloaded a few Linux ISO's that have exceeded 4 GB in Firefox, but I mostly go for the torrent option on larger files
Apparently it's fixed in IE8, but I can't see anyone rushing to upgrade just to get that feature.
Something to bear in mind when I'm recommending a Linux ISO to download though, so thanks for that
(luckily most Linux ISO's tend to be CD sized (<700 MB))
