Fax in Ubuntu not working

Hi,
I have installed Efax-gtk and connected a modem (US-Robotics), but the application will not work. Firstly, I seem to have a problem in converting text files written in OpenOffice to postcript format. I am using Evince. Then I don't hear the modem dialing and there are not instructions as to how to configure the modem, if that is necessary at all.

Should I disconnect the broadband router, before I use the fax?

Any help and suggestions would be most welcome.

Does sound like a conflict between the Broadband and the Telephone modem.

Try disconnecting the broadband router and see what happens.

Can you get back and say how you got on?

I have pulled the router lead from the CPU and connected the modem. Still no luck and here is the log file:-
