I am downloading Wi-Fi Fastconnect from The Cloud to my laptop right now ready for my holiday as I can use my laptop at the airport which has free WiFi Access for passengers. I might not get round to trying it out, but if I'm bored waiting for take-off or if the plane is delayed (hopefully not) I will probably give it a try. Our hotel room has free Wi-Fi, so I am sure I will try that out too.

I'm reading info on their website and can't actually find out whether it is a free service? If it isn't then I won't be using it.

Found this...
fastconnect client is currently free. Once you have the client there is no additional charge to use the service on an ongoing basis.
Commercial hotspots charge access fees however there are no additional costs to use those networks with fastconnect.

Please let us know how you get on, as I take my laptop on holiday; in fact it's the main reason for having one.

I must be missing the point, surely you just scan for available networks and if the hotel/airport whatever supplies it, then I'd assume they'd also give you the key/passphrase if required

The airport says, "In partnership with the airports communications expertise, Peel Telecommunications Limited, Internet access is provided by The Cloud, Europe's leading WiFi network operator." "How Do I Get Online?
For further information about how to get online please visit www.thecloud.net and select 'WiFi' followed by 'How to Connect'. "
So to me, you have to have 'The Cloud' on your PC.

Forgot to update this thread.....it didn't work lol We were only in the airport lounge for about ½ an hour before having to board, but in that time I couldn't get it to work.
The hotel Wi-Fi worked perfectly
