It is best that you remove the updated ZA and redownload a fresh copy from ZA's website. However .. lately ZA slows your computer down a bit and takes ages for the desktop to appear after boot up. I would go to www.oldversion.com and download version 5.50! There is no security updates with ZoneAlarm's engine. Just the design.

Another choice is go with Comodo, as what buzzy's said, or if you have VISTA, use the Windows firewall.
