I've never bothered deleting any - or even looked at them till now
They are just tiny specs of data usage, so there's no need to delete them for that reason
You could have months worth and it wouldn't fill a floppy disk, or about 0.0000(etc)00001% of a modern hard drive

You should never have more than one anti virus software on your pc .
Uninstall avg, update avast, then run a scan.
Edit: sorry I read your post wrongly, forgive me am a little tired. Yes, download avast, dont do anything with it. uninstall avg. install avast and update it. you'll be good to go.

Chester
Do you mean you don't know how to uninstall things? It's slightly different depending on which version of Windows you're using - Are you using XP or Vista, or something else?
AVG doesn't take up a lot of room, but you're right to replace it with Avast for other reasons. (and do listen to Jj - you *should* only have one virus checker installed)
Thinking that AVG is taking up too much space is more worrying though. If you're just listening to someone who thinks they know what they're talking about - ignore them, free virus checkers like AVG or Avast only occupy a tiny portion of the average hard drive. But if you really are that short of space, you're in big trouble and need to reclaim some hard drive space
