What is the effect, apart from taking up some space, of NOTdeleteing NORTON from the Registry ? I'm rather reluctant to delete anything from the Registry for fear of crashing the whole PC !

If you use one of the Registry clean programs, it will remove any entry pointing to files which no longer exist.
I use Easycleaner from ToniArts which I have used for many years without a problem.

u should be able to get a removal tool from norton site to remove the whole thing.
