I've built myself a new computer system using an Intel Quad core processor this time instead of an AMD. I'm really not sure if I did the right thing or not, but now i've got it, I will be trying to make the best of it.
I upgrade things as I go, and as money becomes available. Having a computer business as a means of earning extra cash has it's advantages I guess. This latest upgrade meant pulling the Motherboard out of the case, to upgrade the heatsink and fan assembly on the CPU, as the old one, the Intel generic, was not really doing the job. The processor was running at 51ºC. Since this upgrade, it now runs at 24ºC.
Check out the ram, 8gig of G-Skill DDR3 1333mhz, and the graphics cards, 2 x ATI Radeon HD4870's with Zalman heat sink and fan assemblies. Two Pioneer DVR 216 burners, Three hard drives internal, 2 x 1 TB and 1 x 500gig. The 500gig is the primary hard drive, 2 terrabytes external. All I have to upgrade at this point in time is the processor to a Q9650 from a Q8200.

Hiya Elvis, yes, there are three 120mm case fans, one at the lower front, on at the upper rear, and one in the top of the case. The PSU has three fans, It's a Thermaltake 750watt cable management unit with 1 x 120mm and 2 x 80mm fans. The CPU tower cooling system has a 120mm fan, and the zlaman heatsink and fans on the GPU's are 80mm.

My heating bill has gone right down Kev, but I'm scared to look at my electric bill. I dread to think what it will cost to cool my place, if we get a summer this year.

Some idiot judge here in Oz has just given the green light to the electricity companies to increase their charges by up to $60 a month... friggin idiot! Our electricity bill has gone down from $530.00 a quarter to almost half that since I found out my UPS's have been chewing power by the gazillion. Now our bill is at the right rate, they have just been given Carte Blanche to increase the charges... Ya just can't win hey?

180 bucks a quarter Kev, thats daylight robbery. I bet they wouldn't allow you a 33% increase in wages.
