Right click the box and pick clear search history
It will still try to second guess you based on what other people have entered, but your personal searches should be removed

Tried that Mikkh and the options are "delete or select all" and neither will clear my searches! Nan

If you use Internet Explorer 7 Nan then click tools--internet options-- delete browsing history. That should do it----well hopefully! Bill

I have done that Bill / Lynnrose still it hasn't cleared. All i want to do is clear searches in Google search box eg if i type in the letter "B" in the google box, all sites i have visited beginning with the letter "B" show just below the box. I'ts driving me crazy! ! ! I have cleared it before, but i just can't remember how i did it!..

In the box where it shows all the sites beginning with 'B'. At the bottom there is a link 'delete history' this will delete everything beginning with B.

You're not confusing google 'suggestions' with sites you actually searched for. Have you tried clicking Preferences and and select do not provide query suggestions then SAVE

My suggestion which I have done before.... Type the letter a in the search box In the 'a' list just click the down arrow on your keyboard and click Delete, down arrow, delete and so on and on. You will get faster as you go so it won't take as long as you think, then carry on with 'b' right up to z

Have you installed a bit of google software? Try Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and uninstall anything related to google. You could always reinstall again and start afresh. On the Vista forum someone said they had to Delete History in the google box several times before it worked. Clear Google History Box returned 163,000,000 results in google!!!!
