double trouble

I hope some one can help with the following,on certain sites that I try to enter I get a message telling me I need to install flash player 8 but when I try to down load the flash player the page I have tried to open freezes and so I have to close IE down.
Problem no 2 is when on my IE home page and I open a new page be it from my favourites or the search bar instead of opening another tab it closes my home page and opens the selected favourite/seach,this never used to happen it normally open another tab and if I closed that tab I was back at my home page were as now I if I close the tab I am back at my desk top with IE closed.

On the subject of the Flash, have you uninstalled your current one?

Hi jojo not uninstalled any thing but in the add and remove list it shows as adobe flash player 9.0 is installed, however the page I tried to open will not go any further than the the page with the need to install message on.
Fathomed out how to open a seperate tab from favourites or a link (clicking on with the mouse wheel)don't know how with the search bar never had to do this.

Try using the flash uninstaller first

If you can't follow lynrose's link then you probably have a more serious problem.
