Larry, further to our discussion, I have enabled the "Floats Ad Filter" in Maxthon again and the spurious code has re-appeared. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Ok, left click on the Ad Hunter Icon in the bottom right corner of your status bar. It's the one with the 5 right next to it on my computer.
Then click on Block page content.
Then you will see a dialog box in the top left hand corner. Don't change anything, just click on the ad or that code and whichever one you click on will be the first in the list, just click on the first one and it will add it to the Float Ad list of blocked items. Then just click on Done and the page will refresh and the ad will be gone.

Thanks Larry. Followed you instructions and it seems to have worked. I'll let you know how things progress.
