Yes I have been having so many problems trying to get any versions of linux to install to my secondary hard drive of 20gigs. I decided in desparation to unplug my main hard drive, and it seemed to work okay, and I installed pclos gnome 2008 to my 20gig hd. Then I got the internet connection to work, but have a problem getting the printer to work, as it won't manage to load Cups, keep getting an error when trying to load it. I have downloaded new packets from the syno**** do dah, but still get the error. Have reconnected up my big hd, and both working okay. Pete.

Cups is usually installed by default and is accessed via a web interface type the following into a browser (where you would normally put localhost:631 To be honest, it's not worth bothering about. 99% of people (including me, but for other reasons) will not be using Linux exclusively and have a Widows OS to fall back on Use Linux for what it does best - safer surfing and immunity to Windows nasties, and if you want to do printing, go back to Windows. If you did want to use Linux full time, you'd probably have to use an older printer

Mikkh, Thanks I had printer working before okay, but this time cannot seem to get through localhost:631. My printer is HP deskjet 5550 by the way. I have forgot what driver I had before. Still will carry on looking for one. I am in no rush, as you say we always have windows to work with. I am using linux now, and really like it, there are some good card, and board games on this version too. Like mahjong, and also like the 20 odd card games which includes an old favourite thieves. Am listening to my cd whilst on here, and all for free, I think it is fantastic. Pete.

There's also this, which goes against the normal free open source nature of Linux - but it does work, at a price
www.turboprint.info/
I've just tried the 30 day trial version, and was pleasantly surprised it worked on my Canon MP220
