Hi I.m having problems with my monitor, when its at its best I can make out images or words but there are vertical lines running down the screen, at its worst its impossible to make out any images at all because of the number of lines blocking out the images. I thought my monitor might be faulty so I borrowed one complete with cables and the end result was the same, So I think I can rule out those two Items. Ive checked the connection thats ok,I'm about to give it a hoovering and dust out etc, If that doesn't work I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Has anyone encountered this type of problem or can point me in the direction to troubleshoot it. Hope you can help. docker sorry if ths message is posted twice nothing seems to happe when I press the post button.

Sounds like the graphics card is about to expire
If you have 'on-board' graphics, you'll need to install an external card
If you already have a 'real' graphics card, it probably needs replacing. If you have on-board graphics as well as an external card (look for another (usually) blue VGA connector near the mouse/keyboard ports) then try removing the external card and attach the monitor to the the on-board alternative

If it's got a fan on the graphics card, you had better keep it clean in future Docker. Little fans on graphics cards, can be more of a pain than a simple heat sink.
