Hi everyone. Not quite sure if you'll be able to help on this one as it is a bit of a minority subject. I have been given a Symbol (Motorola) AP300 WiFi access point. Nice, but useless, as I cannot find the IP address - have tried IP search tools, but they come up with everything but the correct address. I have been told that it is somewhere between 172.4 and 172.30, so it's a long haul searching and the IP finder (IPScan Free v1.6) has found sevral hundred of things at that subnet, none of which exist. Is there anything out there that can help me find and set the thing up? Motorola are of no use = big company not interested in the likes of us. I don't have any software for it. The web keeps on talking about a wireless switch - I don't have and don't want - I just want to access it from the ethernet. Any suggestions? (clean ones!) Cheers All!

If you push the reset button; or stick something in the reset hole, or whatever and it will go straight online on open network. To get in and set it up properly, it will be 192.168.x.x, dunno what them 2 last numbers will be. Try 0.01.

It would have been nice if Motorola had actually put a reset switch into the design, but alas, no.
As I said, a bit esoteric this one, I'm hoping someone has actually got an AP 300 and has it working..

Thanks Roz. Turns out it's a no go, so I've binned it. Cheers!
