Netmeater in Linux?

H! Mikkh,

Is their a program in Linux Mint that dose the same thing as Net meater in Windows, counting the band with or usage ?

I cant seem to find anything.

There's one built in Gnome - called network monitor

Right click the taskbar and add applet in KDE, but Gnome is very similar

No i can't find anything with net meter or net monitor or net meter their is a Network Tools but i think that more to do with networks? I had a look in Synaptic nothing their either.

Seems to work in PClinuxOS (Gnome version)

Just right click the taskbar and pick 'add to panel' - you should see similar to this

You may need 'gdesklets' from synaptic, but I'm pretty sure it's part of standard Gnome

Well i had a look at network monitor and it's not what i need it seems to tell me what speed i am doing but not how much i have down loaded over a month but saying that it will be useful for seeing what speed i have.

It's got traffic in/out in 'Kib' units - it means KB's basically
I don't think it stores them though, so you'd have to keep a running total yourself

Depending on your ISP they store how much you have downloaded. It will be in your account settings.
