I stumbled across this in Linux, and later found out there is a Windows version too glest.org/en/index.phpAt just over 50 MB, it's a remarkable achievement and well worth a look if you like RTS type games Sadly the Linux version is rather poor compared to the Windows version, but for Windows it's fine

I did try this game in Linux one time could not get it to work and a lot of Linux games don't seem to work within Linux don't know if its me or Linux or my computer ?
I think i will give it a go on XP not my kind of game but you never now "A"

I might give it a go over the weekend. Did have a go a few years ago at one of those graphic heavy games where you collect items and recharge your weapons etc; etc; going from room/level to room/level. Never get to bed once you get hooked.

It's your basic RTS scenario - collect wood, stone, gold etc, build your base and try to keep it standing while you build enough troops to attack them.
I had a quick go on the Windows version and the difficulty level is a bit steep to start with. I'd only manged to assemble half a dozen troops when they attacked me with 40+ - wholesale slaughter ensued !
