Having logged in at 'CIT - Home' I selected the Sub Board "Computers" and was surprised to see that I appeared to be the first to start a new thread today. Am I in the right place for the sort of enquiry we used to make in the old days on the 'General Board' in MSN - CIT? Also, please, I tried to change the size and colour of the font for this message but, apart from showing a narrative description of my selection in this 'Message' panel, nothing seemed to happen. Will now try to add a 'Smilie' to this message so if it doesn't appear that means I don't know how to do this either!!! Have spent longer than I care to admit getting this far in 'Forums' I must confess to a repeated nostalgia for the old MSN - CIT!! ? Brian PS Did a Preview and at least I got the Smilie right

Hi Oldie, Don't worry, we are all still learning...what we have found is that the easiest way to set your font preferences is to do it this way Hopefully that will explain it, but if you have problems, just ask. The way you were trying is still possible, as what you would do is use the tags above and add your font choices inbetween them, but try the info from the link I gave you. You will get used to it, honestly ;D Yes, you are in the right place, it's just that we aren't as busy as before because people, I guess. give up when they come across any hassle as MSN was simpler and people got so used to it, but the more you join in with this group, the more you will enjoy it and become an expert on where everything is and the ways to use it. Grit your teeth and give it a try, we don't want to lose you x

Thanks Lynnrose; I hope you get this because when I went to the Sub Board 'Computers' my thread wasn't there and top of the list was one from Buzzy that had been there all day. Only way I got to posting this was by clicking where it indicated that I was on-line and then viewing my last 10 posts (just to show you where I was, because I haven't made 10 posts yet of course!). Also, every time I go 'Forum Jump' to the 'Home' page I have to sign in again! I'll leave your suggestion about fonts until tomorrow and let you know how I get on. I'm certainly not quitting yet 'cos I'm nothing if not patient, though a little tiny bit frustrated at the moment. Hopefully if you get this I'll look at your reply tomorrow 'cos I'm off to watch a bit of TV now. The change of screen will do me good! Brian ;D

Hi Oldie, I can't see how you couldn't see your own message on the Computer Board...just click on Computers and scroll down (past the top 4 sub-boards until you see all the PC help questions. I can't see any from Buzzy there? (perhaps you clicked on the Coffee Bar by mistake and saw Buzzy's jigsaws?)
I have come across this problem myself and it seemed to sort itself out Let me know if it still keeps happening tomorrow and the next day Enjoy your TV x

I login fine, but when I click a link it logs me out!

There is something a bit odd going on Lynnrose. When I get to CIT homepage the login window is there, but when I enter my details it wont log me in. To get in I have to click Login at the top and then enter my details. Even then I will sometimes only be able to read the posts and I have to log in again to post myself, because there isn't any reply button until I do. I don't get that trouble with NTI, but of course I am the main man there. Still you would think the security would be tighter on logging in as administrator than as a member. I only had to log in once to post this, but this is the first time I have been able in the last 3 or 4 days.

Hi Lynnrose, Have set my Privacy to LOW but can't find any reference to Cookies on the Security panel; I'm pretty sure, but not 100%, that I am on IE7. When I go Home>Computers I go to the board with me logged in at the top on 21 January and the top post is "FOA - Lynnrose - User Names and Passwords" from Buzzy at 11.22pm Yesterday(presumbly 20/1). The only way to get to your post is to go "Home>Info Centre>Users Online>View Profile>View 10 most recent posts>Search results>Link to post" A rather tortuous procedure you will agree! I have every faith we will get there evenyually. Brian Put this at first on Quick Reply at foot of board and got "Error Message - you are not allowed to post replies on this board." Fortunately it took Copy/Paste. Oh! the trials and tribulations of computers novices! Got back to board headed 'Navigating' instead of 'Post Reply' so here goes. No good again so will go 'Shortcut to post message : Alt+S' fingers crossed! Still no good so will try 'Forum Statistics>100most recent posts of this Forum' Sorry Lynnrose but in desperation thought I would try to reply to any of your posts in Chat.

Oldie, try this for cookies in IE7
Please add this link to your favourites so that you can easily come back to this thread
That post you see of Buzzy's is showing 7th down the list for me and at the moment yours is top. Must be to do with cookies and your cache. It seems as if your pages are not refreshing when you come back to this site, so it's like your are in a time warp, lol
Do the cookie thing and then clear your cache, details here
I am now going to email you also to give you the link to this thread....I'm sure we will get there Mr. Oldie:)

Nasty things them time warps. I remember once I was on my way to Alpha Centary and got caught in a time warp. I don't remember much about what happened, but I found myself getting thrown out of a pub in Southampton.
