I am plagued with pop-up in Chrome and I cannot find a pop-up blocker. Is there one and where is it please. Driving me mad! I tried to uninstall Chrome, but it refuses to do so "until I close all Google windows" yet there are none running. I could go to the directory where Chrome is and delete it there, but I am not sure if that would leave my OS crippled. Many thanks, Alex

Further to the earlier message, I think that an App called Cinema Plus was launching Reimage Repair and Notification Helper, which caused Chrome and Internet Explorer to freeze and then they could not be removed unless I re-booted. The purpose of these annoying apps was to get me to panic and buy software that would scan and clean my computer. Well, they got the wrong bloke, because I do not buy anything without asking you guys for opinion. Finally, I managed to uninstall Cinema Plus and they have stopped popping up, but it has been only a few minutes, so I am waiting to see if Cinema Plus re-installs itself. Alex

Thanks, Buzzy. As I said above, my immediate problems are solved, but that looks a good thing to have.

After installing pop up blocker the flood of pop ups continued to a degree that it was difficult to use the computer at all. So, I gave up and uninstalled Chrome and installed Firefox. I then retreated to PCLinuxOS. What a bliss Linux is in comparison with Windows. No pop ups at all and faster than Win 7.
