The Heath Robinson tends to go with the territory. But if these things bother some they will stay away.
The point of the project is the possibility that those with old laptops might be able to use them for something more than reading old ebooks. It clearly isn't aimed at people who think looks matter.
I drove a Reliant Supervan for 15 years in the 80s, so I'm a functional sort.
To me, what's important is, does it work.
I'm a little concerned about the review:
.
Really?
Last time I saw one of those was on super fast 948MHz laptop which I bought in 1998. That had 2 ports, one for my modem.
There are certainly no ports of that kind on either of my wife's laptops, both of which have W7 installed when new and one which is 64 bit.
Just saying.

My laptop is for taking with me if I need a computer away from home. I wouldn't want to be disconnecting some external lashup, every time I want to go somewhere. It would be a better idea if the card just plugged in and you didn't have to start dismantling the laptop. Any gamer worth his salt, has a proper gaming rig and doesn't mess around with half arsed tempory lashups.
