Okay, so I haven't been using W7 very long and there are still some areas that I haven't explored as yet; this however is an odd one - just a niggle, but an annoyance. I organise my desktop with the most-used apps on the right, from top to bottom, and to keep it simple I always rename the Icons to shorten them. That's simple enough; just right-click and select 'rename' then type in what I want it to be. With XP. once that's done I can hit 'enter' and the icon stabilises with the correct name under it; however with W7, no matter what I do after renaming it, the icon disappears and I can only get it back by right-clicking the desktop and reversing the rename process. Anyone any ideas on how to rename your desktop apps without them doing a bunk off the screen?
