I want to send down the link to this to my friend who has purchased a new XP with windows 7 however I note that installing this on a 64 bit system could cause the computer to crash. She has a 64 bit system.
What is the best way to install this and if her computer crashes what should she do?
I can send her the link to this post so she is able to follow any replies and knows what to do.

Most people have a 64 bit capable system, but run 32 bit OS's on them with no problems. Do you mean she is running a 64 bit OS? Your question is a bit confusing though - What is a "new XP with Windows 7" ? I think I've found the link you've read which states there might be a problem in VISTA 64 bit and other non Windows 7 OS's - not with Windows 7 64 bit apparently though ...and the patronising 'godmode' can be called anything you want www.tomshardware.com/news/GodMode-Windows-7-How-to,9345.html

My friend has a brand new computer which I found was running on a 64 bit. Looking at website comments regarding installing this Godmode seems to have reported a lot of problems from computer users on a 64 bit system trying to install the Godmode desktop folder as its been crashing their computers. make sense?
Sorry Mikkh - I did confuse matters with the heading of my initial post. It looks like I can install this for her on her brand new super dooper just purchased computer and it won't crash it. Or I can give her the link to install it herself.

I had it on Windows 7 x 64 Von and never had any trouble with it. Call the folder what you like as long as the code part is right, I think I called mine Control Panel. I use the control panel so little, I have never bothered to put it back on. Most tweaks are done from Computer and not the Control Panel directly in Windows 7.

I have it installed on all of my W7 Ultimate x64 computers with no problems at all.
Dunno why you don't use the control panel Ken, I have mine on my desktop and use it all the time. I have all the icons displayed when it's open though.

Once set up, I just dont find I use the Control Panel Kev. Any checks I need to do are usually done by right clicking Computer and selecting Manage. Things that were in the Control Panel with XP are under Computer now with Win7 anyway. I always seemed to need the Control Panel with XP, Win7 seems to take care of itself better and I seldom need to alter anything/
