I have Win7 Home Premium 64 bit and WLM
If I go to Start and open my Personal Folder I find 12 folders, one of which is AppData, which contains three folders namely Local, LocalLaw and Roaming. None of the contents of the latter three folders match my 'Storage Folders' files in WLM, which are stored in C:\Users\Emrys Davies\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail. Maybe the latter is hidden in my Personal Folder.
I just need to be reassured that the 'Let Windows Choose' backup in Win7will include my 'Storage Folders', which are in my message store, as I am going to purchase an external hard drive for backup purposes and it is imperative that my e-mail files and the like are included in the backup. Also, would you comment on my hidden folder theory?

I use Win7 Pro, but when it comes to backups its all the same thing. If you regularly let Windows choose what to back up, it makes incremental backups. I make Paragon backups so I am in control and have been letting Windows do it just to try it out. It seems to save everything on the C: drive, I have restored just to see what happens and everything seems to be there. If you go into the advanced bit, you can choose files and folders to back up as well, if you want to make sure. If you do restore it will ask you if you have any other folders you want to put in. It stores your choices in a different folder to the Windows restore folder. Win7 seems to make folders that are hidden even if you make hidden files visible in Folder Options. I know I have a one gig partition that is a Windows Reserve partition. I know there are files on that partition, but nothing I do will get it to let me see what they are. When installing it didn't say anything about this partition and I found it by accident. I went into Disk Management and gave it a letter, this gets it to show in Computer, but it wont tell me whats in it. All I know its about a third full of something secret.

Do you know for sure whether 'Let Windows Choose' will include my WLM Storage Folders?

It copies everything on the C: except the Paging Files and the Hibernation Files.
You could always make your own copies as well until your sure that Windows has.
