Before I purchased my new system which runs Windows 7, my previous machine was running XP. I had downloaded an XP Codec Pack which included the Media Player Classic (which I quite liked)
Can I use this XP Codec Pack with Windows 7 or do I have to use a Windows 7 Codec pack.
The reason I ask, is that I am always dubious downloading this sort of software from the Internet. The version I have running on my old machine works well and has caused me no problems and as I still have the original downloaded file (Nov 2008) I would like to use it.
Thoughts please.

It's constantly updated - the K-lite mega codec pack, which I presume is what you're talking about? Yes it works OK on Windows 7 and NO, don't use an old version though, especially from that long ago when Windows 7 wasn't around This is the latest version from a reliable site www.free-codecs.com/k_lite_mega_codec_pack_download.htm
