Yesterday I 'ripped' several of my music CD's to MP3 using Windows Media Player on my Win 7 machine and all went very well. I then decided to copy the entire folder over to my new Samsung 1TB external hard drive, which again went very well. I have left the original material on the PC for the time being, BUT when I go into the Music Library the previous ability to select files by "Artist" - "Genre" etc: is not longer there. If I click on a particular CD (Artist) with say 10 tracks on it I simply get 10 thumbnails of each track. It plays well and there are no problems other than the apparent "loss" of the options to select as above.
This may be a simple adjustment within the Win 7 setup, can anyone help please?

Copying shouldn't have affected anything. There should be an option to rescan the music library in WMP that might sort it

Mikkh/Lynnrose, Er!! have you ever been embarrased and felt utterly stupid I have sorted the problem that didn't exist. The "Artist" - "Album" - "Genre" options ONLY show when one is actually in WMP and not in the Windows 7 "My Music Folder. You will gather I love my Jazz. I am dreadfully sorry to have wasted your time.
