Suddenly although the recycle bin Icon shows it has deleted files/folders in recycle bin when I double click on the recycle bin to show the contents, nothing is listed. The count of contents is zero, but if I click Empty recycle bin I get the warning are you sure you want to delete x items Anybody experienced the same. Googling the problem shows lots of the same problem going back over Vista and Xp but nothing recent for Windows 7

I can tell you what might be happening; but not what to do about it, except only keep a bin on C:/ like I do. If you have more than one drive or partition, Windows puts a recycle bin on each. Perhaps Windows isnt showing deleted files except whats on C:/, but when you empty it empties all of them. I would have thought that files would only be stored on other drives if the bin on C:/ was full, but who knows what Windows might decide to do. I shut down all the bins except for C:/ and only keep a very small one on that, so I dont have any way of checking my theory.
