Well it could be, but having just tried it in PClinuxOS - it's not exactly working at the moment Maybe I need a reboot after installing it?
I'll let you know - and thanks for pointing it out sweetheart x

I'm trying out "Comnso," which is backing up and synchronizing my Windows 7 onto my Linux NAS. I got it with the LG NAS software. Its working fine for backing up, but I haven't tried to restore with it yet. That's where things will go wrong if they do, but I have my Paragon images and they are good. I don't put all my eggs in one basket. Paragon also works with Linux
Elvis is sure I hate Linux, but I have more drive space being run on Linux than him. The top drives are Windows and the bottom ones in green are Linux. Super Beast is a formidable animal, although the Linux is run on its own peripherals and is well separated from the Windows. The Linux drives are folders not partitions and are expandable, so the each show the whole drive. There is only 3 Tb shared amongst them, although it looks like a lot more.

That's a nice setup - cargo hold and afterburner etc, love it
Yes I've backed up a few partitions with 'clonezilla' (a Linux 'ghost' type program) myself, but I haven't had to restore one yet and don't feel 100% confident of it to be honest - which is why I've used Windows backup programs too.
I tend not to keep lots of stuff anyway (data wise) so it's not a disaster if I did lose everything. Most of the important stuff fits easily on my USB flash drives. There was a time when I kept dozens of films, music etc, but I just deleted them one day and haven't missed them

Well that Comnso has gone. It was backing up alright, but it shrouded my network in mystery. Although I had access to the NAS from the Super Beast, it became invisible to the rest of my network. If someone was using an LG NAS just as extended storage from a single computer, it would probably be OK. It might be OK on a fully Linux network, but think this is another case against mixing open source with Windows. Using the 2 systems as separate entities on the same network is OK, Comnso pulls them together too closely and it all hits the fan.
Another experiment that finished up like most of them, I still manage to pull off a few tricks and learn along the way.
