I wasn't as active as usual myself last week, but there were still lots of good posts and some fine efforts, thanks to all. I've picked this photo of the gardens on Plymouth Hoe for this weeks challenge, and I'm sure you will surprise me with what you come up with. I have just done a fairly simple "paint" job to get us started, now let's see what you can do. ;D

;D That is a really clever effort KC , and actually quite close to the truth, I've had jump lively a few times to avoid being hit by radio-controlled model cars, planes ,and helicopters whose owners find the huge flat asphalt surface of the Hoe ideal for endangering the public. ....(I'm just jealous really, I'd love one of those toys to play with ;D ) I've been mucking about with Hue and Texture here.

Sorry Nocky, but there's a little bit of artistic license in this one and its not geographically correct. Neither is history; Drake couldn't have seen the Armada, from where he was playing with his balls."Shiver me timbers and splice the mainbrace Jim lad, there's a King of Spains beard out there. Where's me bloody parrot??"

No problem KC, we know you old salts arer prone to a bit of "licentiousness" now and then. That's an outstanding bit of work Ken, it has a real professional look to it, I like it a lot. I did this abstract thingy using the reflective tiles and polar inversion tools in the "freebie" Paint.NET. ;D

Thanks Nocky. This isn't quite as abstract as yours, I just bent it a little bit

That's a goodie KC, Plymouth City Council could use it as a Logo Nice Very scary graphics Angel, but I like the spider, and the other one looks very science fictiony (is that a real word? ...probably not ;D ) Trial run for my new watermark. ;D

Notice I got Gran and a penguin in.

What I thought at first glance was a flying saucer, does on closer inspection look like a streamlined swimming penguin, but for the life of me, I can't see Gran anywhere Angel. My eyesight must be getting even worse than I thought. This is how I imagine it might look as a water reflection. (used a free Photoshop plugin from Redfield). ;D

;D LOL Angel, I had to enlarge the pic enormously to discover that my "flying saucer/penguin" was really Gran all the time. I think I see the penguin on the other side of the pic, but I wouldn't bet on it. ;D The sooner my appointment at the Eye Infirmary comes through, the better.

I think the penguin is green and it the top right hand corner, but I wouldn't want to put money on it either. I certainly would never have found it, if Angel hadn't said he was in the picture.

Scuse me for butting in LOL, but I can see the penguin. ;D Well done everybody for all you excellent work doing these, I often lurk but rarely post. As time for doing this sort of stuff has been very limited for me for the past few months. But you all do some very clever and interesting stuff.

That's a nice one Angel, and I've just spent a fruitless 20 minutes looking for penguins. ;D

Another very nice composition there KC, looks so natural, it could almost be real. I think it's smashing. I tried a polar conversion, and this was the result, looks like a volcanic eruption. I think the colours turned out not too bad though. ;D

Thanks Nocky. I was browsing the internet for ideas and couldn't resist that one. The colours in the maypole picture looked as if they were made for the job. Even the flowers on the top of the maypole match the flower beds. Thats original, not me.

I think it was those funny looking mushrooms I had with my fry-up Elvis, and I don't think the effects have worn off yet.
