The freeware 'Irfanview' is what a lot of people use here - including me, when I'm in Windows
www.irfanview.com
Don't forget the plugins if you want all of it's features, and read the install screen carefully - unless you like adding extra toolbars that have nothing to do with the program !
You can import pictures into it via a camera/scanner, remove red eye and a host of other basic editing features - including resizing of course

I like a nice chilled salad with radishes and hard boiled eggies. I like playing Scrabble, too.

I use Pix Resizer. It makes it child's play to resize whole folders at a time. That way, you can keep your photos at full size for printing etc, and make another folder, called small or something similar and keep those for posting online or emailing! It's also free!

For future reference; you dont need Winzip to unzip zipped files, if you use XP or above. The OSs will unzip them OK.

XP's built in zipper/unzipper is a bit basic and the only way I've found to use it, is to copy the files after viewing them - if you want to extract them
There are several freeware or open source zip programs like this one

Winzip is next to useless IMO, because it doesn't do 'rar' files or a lot of other popular archive formats. The old PKZip which it derived from was a must have program in it's day, but that was a long time ago and the only reason Winzip survives still, is because it's thrust at you on nearly every magazine cover CD/DVD
