As the last Project finished on a "fishy" note, and also seeing the wonderful sea views of the Firth of Clyde while watching the Open Golf, I thought we should try our hands at "The Sea".
Any subject that involves the sea or it's inhabitants is fine by me. As usual, feel free to use any program you like.
I did this view of Ailsa Craig using a paint program (Gertrudis) I got off a Magazine CD a while back. Looking forward to seeing your efforts. ;D

Nobody thinks those waves look familiar considering I can't draw for toffee! A google of 'waves' in images may give the game away. I think nockys second offering above is the only wholly original work.

I did recognise your source at once phoney, note capitals in previous post, but hey, it's all for fun and nobody is too worried about"borrowing" from real art. Are they?

Well if it ends up in court my defence will be that I was subconsciously influenced and it's not blatant plagiarism.

I have seen that particular print, and other great works of art, used on many occasions phoney, in TV commercials, other adverts and even cartoons. I don't recall any resulting in a court case. As Mr. Hokusai died in 1849, and your effort could be construed as a tribute to him, I don't think he'll be contacting you anytime soon demanding satisfaction, but I could be wrong ........... ;D

You have got to be joking Nocky, my daughter and granddaughter can both do a lot better than me. I copied a small part of a great big picture, by one of the 19th century seascape artists. It was the great storm of 18 something or other. I wouldn't have even attempted to copy the whole picture. I used to paint portraits, I was never a lot of good at anything else. I used to do illuminated pages of script, when I could hold a pen properly. I tried it again a few years ago, but I have lost it. I can still paint the Celtic symbols, but not the calligraphy.

These tags were made for me and as they are in the same theme, I wanted to post them here (yes, I know my name has been spelt wrong in the dolphin one, but it's lovely anyway)
