Hi LR , here's the next Project. "Landscape" I've mentioned before that I'm not the greatest artist in the world, but I've done this "Trees " thingy, using the free version of ArtRage. www.ambientdesign.com/artragedown.html
download the Starter Edition, it's quite good for a Freebie, lots of things to try. I used Chalks but there are other choices under "Tools", "select Tools". This is just a quickie I did, I'm sure there are many who can do a MUCH better Landscape than this. ;D
To save your painting, click "File", "Export as Image" .

You can use any program you like Angel, I only used ArtRage as an example, and free download for anyone who wanted to try it. Looking forward to seeing your "Landscape". ;D

This is my original. I did it in about 10 minutes using PSP tubes.

Wow!, that's pretty impressive Angel, well done. I've never done any PSP stuff myself, but if that's an example of what can be done, I'll have to give it a try.

Impressive is the word. I made a few attempts but the results were too embarrassing to upload. Are we allowed to paste images into a scene or should it be totally one's own original work?

looks good. There are a few tubes to download at the Corel site and several sites that make and offer them, but you can make your own as well.

Those are really good. You better sign and © them. Excellent shading on the trees and perspective. And the shovel is genius.

I'm a sucker for FREE graphics programs, and download them all. Most of them are rubbish, and are soon discarded, but the odd one here and there can be quite good. I did this version of my trees with the free Twisted Brush Open Studio, for anyone interested, www.pixarra.com

I was just reading an article by the Evening Standards art critic Brian Sewell and his vocabulary and prose are very amusing. I asked him to analyse angelstardust's landscape with the shovel above: (JOKE) Ms Angelstardust, It was the inclusion of the shovel that intrigued me. One's eye is constantly drawn back to it and it asks more questions than it answers. Has it been lost? Has a deadly deed been carried out, or has it merely been laid down as the gardner takes a welcome break. The whole picture is a case study in how one doesn't have to push boundaries while at the same time being modern and experimental. The vigorous strokes of the mouse, the modern equivalent of the paintbrush, approach the naive, yet at the same time provoke. You are left pondering the unanswerable questions of life. The landscape genre as drawn here is about more than virtuosity, it's an illustration of intimacy.
