Well here goes. This project is to make a kaleidoscope using Paint,NET, here's the link for those who dont have it, it's FREE. www.getpaint.net/download.html#download The example here took at least 30 seconds to complete, so no excuses about not having time.
I did a very simple drawing, check below,(works with Photos too) then- Click on Effects -Distort-Polar Inversion. Use the sliders to get the effect you want, and then use Adjustments and Effects to finish, lots of choices there for you,
It's very simple to do (even I can do it) so come on folks, show us what you can do, amaze me.

Downloaded paint.net Took me a few attempts to figure out how to even draw straight lines and fill. Lot more features than windows paint and much better.

No e-mail here LR .
ps. Experiment with all the effects, even before using Polar Inversion, you can use each of them as often as you like. To get the dark effect just invert colours.

I really like the second one nocky. Amazing colours, like satin. Any idea how to use the eraser? Every time I click on it and try to rub something out it draws a grey broken line instead of erasing. I downloaded paint.net from the link you gave and although it's going to take a bit of practise to get used to I find it much better than the the simple Paint software that comes with windows.

Hi phoney, I should have mentioned that there is a very good Help File available on Paint,NET's download page. I've just had a look, and there is a bit on how to use the Eraser. Heres the link to the help file. (Contents Page is on the left.)

Like the letters and numbers effect on the first one LR . What I like about this is that the results are infinite, you can just keep on re-using the effects till you finally get something you like. ;D

Thank you LR , looking at them posted vertically, I'm just thinking I could stitch last 3 to make a giant poster. Hard to believe all 4 started from the same doodle I did with Photoshop brushes. ;D

That's very good John. I agree, Paint.Net is very good for a freebie.
