H! Mikkh,
Just been playing with Linux Mint 7 installed within XP I just wanted to have a look at it, I thort I would try my Epson Stylus DX6000 and it pick up automatic as a DX7000f. So i tried my scanner (not expecting it too work in mint as I have never been able to get it to work before) and it work and it did it automatic same as the printer did it pick up as a Epson Stylus CX6000 Scanner.
I was using Scanner Utility as I have not install Gimp yet
I don't really need XP no more :-)

Excellent news and well done for sticking with it - a lot of people would have given up and gone running back to Windows a long time ago. Welcome to the virus free world of Linux

I got an Epson Stylus S20. I turned it on, loaded Open Office, typed a few letters, clicked on PRINT and daadaa!! The printer worked!

Yes Mikey™ my printer always picks up in mint but my scanner never did and it was just lucky that i put DX7000f drivers on and now my scanner picks up as well. Not all scanners pick up.
