1 is that the pcu does not fit the mother board and was wondering if you can get an adapter that would make it fit as he got a new tower that came with new pcu 2 he cant get hold of any ddr1 memory sticks do you know where we can get this from hopefully i get him sorted on a PC so that he can get of mine i think i might invite him to join the group if i can

I presume you mean the CPU (the processor) and you can't fit a round peg in a square hole I'm afraid. There are no adaptors, you have to match the right CPU to the right motherboard.
Modern computers are either Intel based and need a socket 775 CPU or are AMD based and require an AM2 motherbaord and CPU (dual core) or AM2+ for quad core.
If it requires DDR1 RAM it's probably neither of those though
The motherboard should have a make/model number on it, post those details and we'll be able to tell you what CPU you require for it

Good thinking, I saw the letters pcu and wrongly interpreted that as cpu
Most 20 pin power adapters will fit in a 24 pin slot with no adapter - just look at the shape to see whether it fits far left or far right - and don't force it
And some 24 pin ones have a removable 4 pins on them, so I'm guessing yours is the solid 24 pin one, you're trying to fit to a 20 pin motherboard?
You will need an adapter for that

.... and DDR speed doesn't matter, it will just default to the slowest speed if you have two or more that are different speeds.
It's best to have two matching ones though
It's almost impossible to buy 2100 speed now, so it will be either 2700 or 3200
