iOS 12 update taking forever on iPhone? With promised speed increases and other new features, it's more desirable than a lot of recent updates, but was downloading for hours last night and still saying minutes left for hours today till I went looking for the cure.
The annoying thing was, that it did it without much trouble on the iPad, but was crawling on my iPhone.
The fix was pretty simple in the end - basically update it using iTunes, which sticks in the craw for me being a Linux user, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and load Windows occasionally
In iTunes the size of the update was revealed as 2.86 GB which is a pretty hefty download to accomplish over wi-fi (for the iPhone at least - does the iPad have superior wireless?)
Anyway I digress and double digress, but if you're having the same problem, that is the cure
