After updating Windows 10 I found that the system created a folder called Windows.old and, as I need to free some space on the HD, I tried to delete that file, but the system is refusing access. I have tried it from Command Prompt and in Save Mode, but it refuses to go. Any ideas would be most welcome. Best regards, Alex

You shouldn't need Safe Mode, but boot up in it anyway and it can't hurt anything. Then go into Program Files and Delete the folder. It will ask if your sure that you want to do it, just tick, "Of course I bloody do." I don't think I have done it with Windows 10, but I have never had any trouble with Windows 7, when upgrading from XP. I always make a Paragon image on an external drive, then I dont have to depend on Windows if I change my mind.
