I have never used a financial program personally. In the days when I kept account books, I generally did them the old fashioned way, simply because the hassle of learning. My books were never particularly complicated through and I did type them out when presenting accounts. But I know Open Office has some pretty impressive stuff. It's free. But depends upon what you personally need www.openoffice.org/product/
