For the second time i'll post message.Heaven knows where the last message went My husband is running a vista basic programme on his computer,which i dont think is as good has Xp but there you go. Its so slow.Do you think its because there is only 512MB of Ram. Many thanks for any replies.

I answered the other post, but 512 Mb is scratching the bottom of the barrel even for XP.

Yes it's definitely because of low memory - 512 MB for Vista is ludicrous
Hopefully it's a fairly modern motherboard that takes DDR2 RAM, so an upgrade won't be too painful in the wallet area. 1 GB of DDR2 RAM is around a tenner, stick two of those in and lob the 512 MB and you'll see a totally different PC

Can you suggest he invests about £50 in a copy of XP?
