I have just received an email with an attachment but when I try to open it I get the following message. This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action, create an association in the folder options control panel.I know who it is from so there is no danger in opening it,but not being very clever with computers I don't understand the message ie I don't know how to create an association or how to open it.Can any one please explain the procedure. ray

you need to check what the file extension is (the last 3 letters after the . (full stop)) It could be any file type, if its possibly a text document then try saving the file somewhere on your desktop, then try opening it with a text editor.
If its a .pdf then you need Acrobat reader program if its .ppt or .pps then you need the power point viewer (download free from microsoft) Tell us wjhat the exrtension is then we can suggest a possible viewer program Graham

Just right click on the file, select Open With and elect Doxygen as the program to open it.
